Hi! I’m Kate —

I’m a journalist based in Sacramento, CA.

I am currently the Health Care Reporter for CapRadio, an NPR station for Sacramento County and much of Northern California. I work to demystify the latest news on health and health care issues. Check out my recent reporting here.

I come to CapRadio after four years at KQED Public Radio in San Francisco, where I learned how to report, produce, edit and anchor live local news and podcasts.

I am a regular contributor to NPR newscasts, and I have reported on wildfires, housing issues, and youth tackle football for NPR newsmagazines. I’ve also produced and directed special broadcasts for a statewide audience.

At UC Berkeley, I studied Cognitive Science and Creative Writing. I am a supporter of student journalism and owe much to The Daily Californian, The Weekender, The San Quentin News, and Street Spirit.
